Gay4Tay: A Swifties Subreddit Unlike Any Other
Meet the denizens of an online community where Taylor Swift is worshipped as the high priestess of repressed homosexual desire!

The great thing about online content agglomerators like Reddit is that they showcase cultural manias that are, at once, utterly confounding AND gloriously revelatory.
At first glance, the Gay4Tay subreddit appears to be like any number of “celebrity tribute” forums. For those out of the loop, those are virtual hang-out spots were group members talk about masturbating — and sometimes show themselves masturbating — to images and videos of various people.
A quick scroll through the most popular Gay4Tay posts is a potpourri of suggestive GIFs and photos, primarily depicting the songstress in provocative poses. Inevitably, it isn’t long before you see images of subreddit dwellers pressing their penises against their smartphones — considering how difficult it is to scrub off mere thumb print grease, one can only imagine the pains of removing ejaculatory emission stains from the screen.
While “celebrity tribute” forums have always carried with them a sort of latent homoeroticism — it is a fandom anchored around strangers showing their dicks to other men, naturally — the Gay4Tay subreddit breaks the proverbial fourth wall and makes the gay subtext just plain text.
One of the most popular posts on the subreddit is a rather tame photo of Taylor Swift with a bit of a smirk — with a caption reading “you’re going to let him cum down your throat for me.”
Another top-rated post features a photo of Tay-Tay with her hands placed to her hips (apparently, a picture taken from the 2021 British Music Awards red carpet.) The user-submitted title? “ I lay on my stomach under a blanket, only my ass exposed. You set up a laptop on my back and look at Tay’s pictures while you fuck me.”
Appropriately enough, the all-time top post on the subreddit is a compilation of anal sex and male on male masturbation, which concludes with a static photo of Taylor telling the user “download Grindr and go gay for me."
But the general thrust of the subreddit — pardon the term — is that it seems to be a hotbox of repressed homosexual lust. Perhaps the users aren’t “gay” in the traditional, classical sense, but for whatever reason, seeing Taylor Swift makes a lot of them crave a cavalcade of cock, a surfeit of sperm and an abundance of rectal recreational activities.
Of course, all of this raises the question — of all people, why is Taylor Swift the celebrity being worshipped as the high priestess of repressed homosexuality, and why is a cisgender female being vaunted as the goddess of gay desire in the first place?
Ever the curious sort, I reached out to subreddit users and asked if any of them would be interested in expressing their thoughts and ideas for a blog post (the very one you’re looking at now, dear reader.)
The first few responses I received were fairly brief and hardly the insight I was looking for.
“I don’t know why but Taylor’s face and voice and body makes me feel horny and weak,” one 28-year-old Canadian respondent, who identifies as cismale and bisexual, replied.
“I think feminine guys get, I guess, ‘jealous’ of her look, which makes them somehow even more gay,” another respondent — a 22-year-old German who once again described himself as cismale and bisexual — reported.
Other responses were even less verbose. Some of that I would attribute to language barrier issues — with subreddit users hailing from Brazil, India and everywhere in between, linguistic difficulties were bound to be encountered.
Ultimately, though, I ended up receiving three especially nuanced and well-written responses from subreddit regulars that do as serviceable job as any of explaining the peculiar “Gay4Tay” Tao.
“Shawna,” of the United States, describes herself as a 41-year-old “sissy” with a homosexual orientation.
“Eric,” another U.S. resident, describes himself as bicurious 32-year-old cismale.
And then there’s “Emma” — a 30-year-old United Kingdom resident who is self-described as bisexual and non-binary.
Why don’t we let them tell us what “Gay4Tay” means — and why there’s much more depth and substance to the community than it may appear — themselves?
Toxicka: To begin, can you describe how you discovered the Gay4Tay subreddit?
Shawna: Through a general web search for the term “Gay4Tay.”
Eric: I discovered Gay4Tay from entering her name in the Reddit search bar.
Emma: I was actually looking for sissy hypno captions and stumbled across a “go Gay4Tay” meme. It caught my interest and soon led me to the subreddit.
Toxicka: To you, what is the appeal of the Gay4Tay subreddit? Basically, what does it provide you that other subreddits do not?
Shawna: The Gay4Tay subreddit is appealing because of its sole and unique focus on the them of going gay for Taylor Swift. While the idea might be mentioned on other subreddits, it’s the only one so dedicated to the theme.
Erica: Gay4Tay is one of the few, if not only, sub like it that I’ve seen. I love the thought of a woman having so much power over otherwise straight men she could make them do whatever she wants.
Emma: It lets members express a side of themselves that is taboo or frowned upon. In my case, being sissy/feminized while chatting to other males. It is a place where you can explore your true feelings without being judged.
Toxicka: How would you personally describe the intent and meaning of the Gay4Tay subreddit?
Shawna: The intent of the Gay4Tay subreddit is to assist males who want to teach orgasms and encourage us to do that with each other. It’s meaning, on the other hand, is deeper. It serves a niche community of males who want to have homosexual encounters but when the overall theme of desire for Taylor Swift.
Eric: The intent is to show straight men the joys of exploring their sexuality in service of our Goddess Mommy Taylor.
Emma: I think it is a way to bring like-minded people together who would never meet in real life. It’s a really small niche and not something that would ever get big enough without a place to gather and mix.
Toxicka: What sort of experiences have you had with other members of the Gay4Tay community? Have you met another member in real life, or do you have regular contact on other platforms and networks?
Shawna: So far, my only contact with other members has been through Reddit’s chat feature and the comment sections of posts. Most of these experiences have centered on a conversation about homosexual acts and Taylor Swift.
Eric: Unfortunately I haven’t had any contact with any fellow Gay4Tay members off the sub.
Emma: I chat with a few members. I’m getting more confident but nothing in real life. I find Discord, etc., quite confusing to use and some other apps just don’t work at all for me, so I tend to stick to Reddit.
Toxicka: At what point in your life did you first acknowledge that you had homosexual feelings?
Shawna: I was confident in my homosexuality at a very young age, probably around 5 or 6 years old.
Eric: I had my first homosexual feeling when I was 13 in 2003 and my sister had a magazine, Star magazine I believe it was, where they were covering Britney Spears’ latest tours at the time, the Onyx Hotel tour. They had a pic from her performance of “Breathe On Me” where she was writhing around on a bed in skimpy pink lingerie with her tiny brief-wearing backup dancer Leo Moctezuma. Let’s just say I couldn’t help but notice how very well endowed he was in his snug tighty-whiteys. I became obsessed with him and a few years later when YouTube came along I watched every video of the performance I could find, jealous of Britney for getting to passionately kiss him at the end of the song. His bulge, sexy athletic body, back, soft lips and perfect ass were in my dreams many a night.
Emma: I started to crossdresser at a young age but I never felt gay. I sort of became female for the time I was doing it until it stopped for the day. I guess I realized I might be at least bi when watching trans porn. I’m really enjoying looking at cocks and it’s OK. Nothing bad has happened. From there I tried solo gay porn and like it, too. Probably four or five years ago, now.
Toxicka: OK, it’s pretty obvious that Gay4Tay is meant to give users an opportunity to have cybersex. But beyond that, do you think it’s a subreddit where real friendships are developed?
Shawna: To date, I have not yet experienced anything that would borders on a deeper relationship from the Gay4Tay subreddit. That doesn’t mean my experience is universal, however. I believe it is absolutely possible to develop a more meaningful relationship through the forum, as both parties should have something in common for sure.
Eric: I haven’t been on the page for long but all the users so far seem very friendly, so I do think there are legitimate friendships among the Gay4Tay users.
Emma: I think it could be. I haven’t had any in real life contact as I am super-careful, but never say never. A lot of guys seem to be based in the USA, too, which stops in real life contact.
Toxicka: Tell me about your fandom for Taylor. What’s your favorite song, and how long have you been an admirer?
Shawna: Trying to pick just one song of hers as a favorite is nearly impossible! I have always loved “Cruel Summer,” though, so if I have to pick just one, that would be it. I’ve been a fan since she began making music!
Eric: I was a causal fan of Taylor ever since the late 2000s, my older sister is a big fan of her. I remember really being impressed by her singing on the John Mayer song “Half of My Heart” but for years I simply enjoyed her songs that would play on the radio, never looking any deeper into her non-big hit singles. I really started to become a fan when “Miss Americana” came out on Netflix. My sister showed it to me and I fell in love with Taylor’s personality, overcoming guys like Kanye, and Scooter Braun and general sexism, her charisma and her work ethic. After that “Evermore” and “Folklore” came out and I decided to dive in completely into her fandom. My favorite song of hers is “Mean” — it’s a good “fuck you” song to haters and negative people, while maintaining a positive and fun vibe. Plus it’s just plain catchy and I love country Taylor.
Emma: I’ve admired her for years. I liked her when I saw her on TV or Youtube, etc., but I didn’t pay much attention until “Shake It Off” came out. I’ve been a fan ever since. My favorite song is “Style,” because it’s a great late night driving song and always puts me in a certain mode.
Toxicka: Some people are going to be very confused about the concept of the subreddit. Can you explain how and why the image and music of Taylor Swift ties into your homosexual desires?
Shawna: The reason Taylor Swift fits so well into this niche community is because she is the incarnation of similar desires that many members of the community have. Her style, her appearance, her love of men, and her celebration of femininity all combine to push the right buttons for many of the people on the subreddit. I think it quite appropriate that her heterosexuality is such a strong force for encouraging homosexuality among us?
Eric: Taylor is a great representation of a strong, powerful woman and is extremely supportive of the LGBTQ community. I think this helps with any guys struggling with or questioning their sexuality in a fun and supportive environment free of judgment. We are supporting a LGBTQ and feminist icon and fostering a tolerant place for men to explore. Society isn’t exactly too keen on male sexual experimentation, so Gay4Tay provides an outlet for anyone who needs it.
Emma: Difficult one to answer. It just feels right. It works. She is our mistress and our mommy and she makes us feel a certain way about each other. I chatted with a guy on here who has similar experiences with Anne Hathaway. Maybe she has her own subreddit? I haven’t looked as yet.
Toxicka: Do you have an all-time favorite experience on the subreddit?
Shawna: Anytime someone on the subreddit posts an image or text block about ending heterosexual relationships to pursue homosexual desires, that is a massive turn-on for me.
Eric: I haven’t been a member long enough to o have a specific all-time favorite moment just yet but I love reading all the stories of the members hooking up in real life.
Emma: I think that is still yet to come. I’ve had some exciting chats, but I’m, still quite new.
Toxicka: And lastly, we all know Taylor Swift is a big supporter of LGBT rights. Do you think she’s aware of the Gay4Tay community, and if so, what do you think she thinks about it?
Eric: I don’t think she’s aware of this community but I like to think she’d be really flattered by it. She by far is the celebrity with the largest gay4 fan base, so I hope she is aware of it or becomes aware of us in the near future. I love the idea of two previously straight Gay4Tay male fans getting married, contacting her explaining their backstory and Taylor actually attending their wedding.
Emma: I’m almost certain that she is. I think a woman with her online reach will be aware of it. Her people must work ‘round the clock to chaperone her internet access if not! I think she is a very sexually aware person and as you say, has lots of contact with the LGBT world. She knows that people aren’t just into vanilla boy-girl relationships here in 2022. That said, I also think Taylor is very good at keeping her public appearance quite clean,. I’ve seen the odd paparazzi photo of her with an alcoholic drink, but that’s about it. I love the idea that she knows all about us and think it’s really flattering, if a little weird. I doubt she spends any time looking at it but she will have found out by now. If there was an LGBT subreddit about me worshipping who gorgeous I was, I’d want to know! 99% sure she knows. She’s like — wink, wink, “have fun, boys,” lol. She definitely knows.
